We are always looking for dedicated trappers, both new and experienced, to represent Texas Premier on our event days!
First things first, What is a Trapper?
A trapper or “referee” is an individual who “mans” a sporting clay station. They ensure all safety procedures are followed, throws targets, and keeps score for the shooters.
The success of our event is impacted greatly based on the job of our trappers. It is our goal for our trappers to be the best shooters have ever worked with. We will teach, challenge, and inspire them to have confidence in themselves and their work.
What if I’ve never trapped before?
Newbies are welcome! We will teach you everything you need to know from the safety requirements of a gun range to scoring on the scoresheet. For those who are completely new to shotgun sports, we will walk you through a crash course of what sporting clays is all about!
Can I become a trapper if I am not familiar with shotguns?
Yes! As part of your “trapper training” we will teach you all aspects of trapper duties, what sporting clays is, and how to safely manage a shotgun and ensure all safety procedures are followed by those around you.
